College of the Desert
College of the Desert is a public community college in Palm Desert serving the Coachella Valley of Riverside County, California.
College of the Desert is one of over 112 community colleges in California and a vital part of the world’s largest system of higher education. The college was founded in 1958 and opened its doors for the first time in September 1962. The current average student enrollment each semester is approximately 10,000. COD enrolls about 12,500 students, of which around one third attend college full-time. The college is federally recognized as a Hispanic-serving institution, receiving Title V grants.
